MURDEROUS TRIBESMEN.
ESCAPE TO AFGHANISTAN. NO HARBOURAGE ON FRONTIER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. DELHI, May 21. It has been officially confirmed that, the murderers of Mrs Ellis fled to Afghanistan. The Government is taking strong measures for dealing with the tribes concerned in the outrage. Fifteen aeroplanes flew over Tirah, compelling the frontier tribes to send representatives to a conference with a chief commissioner and political officers, and give an undertaking to keep the gang out of their territories, hand them over if caught, and to destroy the settlement which sheltered them.
