ROTOTUNA.

Church Anniversary. The 16th anniversary of the Rototuna church was celebrated on Sunday, when the Rev. F. E. Leadley preached an able and appropriate sermon to a large congregation. Celebrations were continued on Friday evening in the form of an old-fashioned - soiree, when a typical Rototuna tea, consisting of dainty home-made viands, was served; and done ample justice to. A concert programme of exceptional merit was submitted, in the course of which an official welcome was extended to Revs.iW. Ready and F. E. Leadley, Mr Thomas speaking du behalf of Ihe congregation and Mr Clement on behalf of the Sunday-school. The rev. gentlemen made suitable acknowledgment. The programme was as follows:—Duet.. Misses N. Thomas and K. Clements; solo, Mrs James; recitation, Mrs Clement; duet, Misses A. and N. Thomas;, speech, Rev. W. Ready; solo, Mr Fullerton; recitation, Mr James; solo, Mrs Thomas; recitation, Master K. Macdonald; speech, Rev. F. E. Leadley; solo, Mr Henderson; solo, Miss Jones. The secretary read the report of the year's work and submitted the balance-sheet of the working expenses, which showed a small deficit. A comprehensive vote of thanks lo alt who had in any way assisted in making the entertainment the success it proved was proposed by Mr Thomas and carried by acclamation. and the singing of the National Anthem concluded an enjoyable evening.
