PHTHISIS CASE.
CHARGES ON HOSPITAL BOARDS. NO DEVIATION FROM POLICY. In writing, at to-day's meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board, the DireetorGeneral of Health acknowledged a resolution by the board which advocated that in view of the Increased number of phthisis pulmonary cases entering hospitals throughout the Dominion the Government be asked to admit such cases to Government sanatoria without further charges being made on hdspital boards. Dr. Valirttine pointed out on behalf of the Minister that there was no reason why the treatment of tuberculosis "ihould administratively be separate Jrom that of other diseases and be .lealt with by the Health Department, fhcrefore the Government could not 6ee its way to accept such a deviation from the present policy.
