VALUES SLIGHTLY EASIER. By Telegraph. —Special to Times. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The quality of beef offered for sale to-day at the saleyards at Westfleld was again first-class. There was a steady demand throughout, but enving to the increased number of prime cattle values were slightly easier. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report that they penned fat cuttle to the number of -128 head, comprising 3-47 steers, 80 cows and heifers, and one bull. Kxtra choice ox sold to £1 lis; choice and prime, £1 8s to £1 13s; ordinary, and plain, £1 to £1 7s; rough beef, 8s to I is. Prime young cow and heifer beef changed hands at prices ranging from £l 5s to £1 10s; ordinary cow beef, 19s to £1 is. Kxtra heavv prime steers ranged in price from I'll", to £11) 2s (id, the latter price being realised for a three and ahalf year steer from Messrs G, and R. Coale's, Matakohe. Heavy prime steers brought from £ I •'! to £ls :10s; lighter prime. £lO lo £l2 10s; light prime, £7 to £9 10s; small and unfinished, £4 to £0 15s. An extra special cow from Messrs C. and R. Coatcs realised 15 guineas, and a heifer from the same clients was sold for £l3. Heavy prime young cows and heifers brought from £7 to £9; lighter cows and heifers, £5 to £0 15s; others, £1 to £i 103.
