ACTION BY LAW SOCIETY. SUSPENSION FROM PRACTISING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. At the Supreme Court the Auckland Law Society made application for a rule nisi, calling upon Arthur Crackncll, the surviving partner of Hammond and Crackncll, to show cause why he should not be struck off the rolls or suspended from practising as a solicitor. Crackncll, in a sworn statement, said his linn received from the solicitor of Mr Oliver Reed, a farmer, L.’iOOO, and it used this money fur its own private purposes with the consent of of Oliver Reed; that there were many oilier cases of obtaining and using clients’ trust funds, with the knowledge and consent of both partners in most cases; that there is now in the trust account of the firm a sum not exceeding £250; that the clients’ funds, amounting to at least , £IO,OOO, have, been misapplied by the llrrii, or the partners thereof. Mr Justice Adams said that Crackncll had been very open and frank. The rule nisi was granted as asked for.
