OUTLOOK IN SYDNEY
A GRAVE SITUATION. ISLAND TRADE LOST. (United Press Association.) Received July 28, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY. July 28. At the annual meeting of the Chamber of Commerce it was slated that the island copra trade has 'been lost to Sydney, and other trade lias been badly disorganised owing to the restrictive port regulations. The need for a revision Of the regulations was stringently urged. The chairman's speech referred to the gravity of the situation arising out of the inflated public borrowing. He said that Stale control of industry was not being contracted as speedily as the best wishers for the prosperity of the country could desire. He urged the need for better mail and cable communication, and condemned the cTClay of the authorities in not pushing forward or allowing private companies to establish wireless communication.
