ATTACK ON EVEREST
STEADY PROGRESS MADE. DIFFICULT TRANSPORTATION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received July 28, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, July 27. Reports from the Everest expedition show that it is making steady progress, despite the great difficulties of transport in the rough country, amidst wonderful scenery- Interesting visits have been paid to Tibetan monasteries, and surveyors have mapped 25,000 square miles which hitherto had been unsurveyed country.
