The Yorkshire Insurance Co. has purchased for £23,000 the corner property, with a frontage of 45ft sin to Shortland Street, and 105 ft 1" O'Conueii Street, formerly the site of Messrs Brown and Campbell's offices. ALLEGED ARSON. AUCKLAND, Friday. At. the Police Court two girls, named Margaret, Metcalfe and Freda Hutchinson, inmates of the Door of Hope, were charged with having unlawfully set Ore to the building on February 13. They were remanded for a week in custody. SENTENCED FOR THEFT. DUNEDIN, Friday. Theophilus La Monthe. Ralfe, who rad pleaded guilty ; |. Oamaru to foi:r charges of theft, came up for sentence '/be money involved, which was taken from the patriotic rtmd, totalled £OBO. of which prisoner hid paid back £2OO. A sentence of three -ears' imprisonment was imposed.
