HOPES OF SETTLEMENT. (United Press Association.) Received February 24, 10.50 p.m. MELBOURNE!, February 24. The maritime compulsory conference further adjourned tilt to-morrow to allow the parties to complete negotiations. Satisfactory results are expected. The proposals for a settlement submitted by Senator Bakhap include a guarantee that job control will be abolished, continuity of work observed, and that Arbitration Court awards and agi mchts will be strictly observed in future by both parties.
