Kapuni, trading from here to Patea, is held up owing to the crew's objections to go to sea until a public inquiry is hold regarding the .recent benzine explosion in the engineroom at Patea. The steamer, however, has been passed by cxpf.rts as quite safe, and the owners contend that the explosion was accidental, and not connected in any way with the escape ot fumes through the bulkhead.'
