TOPS INDUSTRY SLACK. OF MEN IDLE. CO-OPERATIVE WOTOCS PROPOSED. (United Press Association.) SYDNEY, Dec. 9. Slackness in the wool top industry has set In and hundreds of men are idle. The union secretary says that the wool textile workers propose to establish their own mills, and are approaching the Government for the use of the old Parramatta gaol building. REALISATION SCHEME ADOPTED. (United Press Association.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 9. At the wool sales the market continued to show great irregularity. High prices were paid for the best lots, running up to 47d for a top lot from Morrabong, which is a record for the Melbourne market. Heavy withdrawals of ordinary wools continue. The inter-State conference of woolgrowers, brokers and fellmcngers adopted the realisation scheme without amendment, and a deputation which subsequently waited on Mr Hughes induced him to cable lo the Imperial authorities asking them to agree,- also appointing the Australian Association as sole agents for the sale of Britain's half of the carry-over. Mr Hughes warmly approved, and the cable was despatched last night.
