BOROUGH SUPERVISOR

_4 NEW AGREEMENT MADE. STATUS RAISED. INCREASE IN SALARY. A new agreement has been drafted between the Hamilton Borough Council and the borough supervisor, Mr W. Stevens. This was'' approved by the Council last night, subject to review of the document by the borough solicitor. The agreement raises Mr Stevens to Ihe status of borough engineer, his duties to include general supervision of all new works, preparation of all plans, etc., direction, laying out and supervision of all new works and alterations; advising on all engineering works, and generally performing all such duties as are usually performed hy the engineer of a borough council in New Zealand. His salary is increased from £330 to £SOO per annum, in addition to which he will receive 1 per cent, on the estimated expenditure of £IIO,OOO on the drainage proposals, to be paid in yearly instalments at the rate of 1 per cent, on the actual expenditure at the end of each year, tho total ?,mount thus payable as a bonus not to exceed £llOO.
