THE BOROUGH FOOTPATHS
WORKS COMMITTEE TO REPORT. During a discussion on the state of the footpaths in the borough, at a meeting of the Hamilton Council, last night, the engineer (Mr W. Stevens) said it was impossible to put the whole of the footpaths of the borough in•» season with the plant at its disnos: The Mayor (Mr J. R. Fow) said the paths had undoubtedly got into a very bad state. A voice; Shocking. , Cr W. Scott suggested that contracts should be let for the tarring of certain of the footpaths. The Mayor did not think it advisable to let the main street tarring by contract. Cr Snell said the Works Committee had decided to proceed with the repairing of the main street footpaths. The Works Committee was instructed to bring down a report on the matter.
