KILLARNEY ROAD
NEW TRAFFIC OUTLET, CROSSING TO BE _ CONSTRUCTED. Killarncy Road, Franklon, promises to become one of the main traffic routes from Hamilton to the Whalawhata, Tuhikaramea, Karamu, an I Raglan districts, as there is every hops that the crossing over the railway line at the foot of Oueen's Avenue, which has been holding the thoroughfare back for so long, being constructed at an early date. The District Engineer asked the Council, last, night, if it was prepared, when called upon by the Department, to enter into an agreement to provide crossing-keeper, gates, alarm bells, or other safety appliances, or to substitute in lieu of the crossing an overbridge or subway at the Killarney Road crossing. Council agreed that the crossing was essential, and decided to enter into the agreement as required. It is, therefore, anticipated that the work of constructing the crossing will be proceeded with at once, as the Department intimated to the last meeting that it was prepared to do the work immediately the Council agreed to terms.
