CUBAN SITUATION
AMERICAN AID ACCORDED. PROPOSAL TO AVERT CRISIS. (Australian and X.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October 16, 9.30 a.m. NEW YORK. October 14. President Metocal, of Cuba, has in-* formally suggested to the State Department that American financial and sugnp interests should co-operate to relieve Cuba's financial crisis by moving tha Island's sugar crop. NEW YORK, October 15. Local hankers have shipped 10.000,000 dollars to Cuba during the last three days to ease the troubled sifuation there. In response to an appeal from the Cuban President for financial help, a conference will be held in Washington today. It is rumoured that a syndiate of banks and sugar interests is to form a pool tn secure raw sugar at seven cents a pound.
