CARPENTIER V. LEVINSKY
SINISTER RUMOURS. INVESTIGATION TO BE MADE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October 16, 0.30 a.m. NEW YORK, October 15. The New York Shite Boxing Commission has decided tentatively to investigate the Carpenticr-Levinsky fight 1" quieten the rumours published in New York papers, alleging that the. bout was faked. Curpenticr indignantly denies the insinuation, and asks for a square deal. He pledges his honour as a soldier of France that, he fought to the best of his ability. Levinsky has also made a statement, denying that lie laid flown. He said Uiai he never recovered from a blow in Ihc second round. The New Jersey Boxing Commission believes that the fight, was a fair one. but is desirous of fixing the authors of the insinuations ;m opportunity to submit evidence If they have any. The New York Boxing Commission has granted Carpentier a license to box in this slate.
