LONDON WOOL SALES. ABOVE DECEMBER RATES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received January 15, 12.20 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 12. The wool sales opened firm. Merinos are five per cent above the December closing rates. Received January 15, 1.25 a.m. LONDON, January 12. A list of 10.IU8 bales was catalogued, of which 3785 were New Zealand. There was an excellent selection of merinos, but crossbreds were indifferent. There was a large attendance and good all-round competition for merinos generally, which were about five per cent above the Decern- . ber depressed closing rales.
