THEATRE ROYAL.

A striking quantity-with-quahly opens to-night. There will be three star dramas. The wonderful child, Baby Dorman, whose success has been electric, will be seen in “The Soul of a Child.” “Photo-play” writes of her as ‘ ‘ a remarkable child of tender years, possessing all the ability of a great tragedienne —a baby of rare charm. Dustin Farnum will show in his powerful dramatic “The Iron Strain.” a play that affords 'the actor an excellent chance to display -ns undoubted versatility. That fearless actress, Helen Holmes, will show in “The Overland Disaster,” an especially thrilling and complete story of the popular “Railroad Raiders” series. The unfoldings will, of course, be accompanied musically by the popular Royal Orchestra. Seats should.be reserved at Paul’s or over ’phone 580.

BING’S THEATRE.

The popular favourite, Billy Desmond, who was a great success throughout New Zealand as leading man for J. C. Williamson, Ltd., and who madepronounced hit when last seen here in that fine picture. “The Sudden Getd lonian, ” stars to-night, conjointly with Gloria Swanson, in a particularly fine photo-plajy, “Society for Sale,” described as “a great breezy production with a. novel plot.” There is a big element of genuine humour running through the dramatic story. Two selected comedies, both in two acts, and a couple of Gazettes will complete a long and happily compiled programme that will screen to the music of the popular King’s orchestra. William Farnum, who earns a far higher salary than any other screen star, appears to-night in a six-reeMrVii-liam Fox picture de luxe, “For 5 ■ c ‘ c ' ■ dom." II is a terrific story of a great wrong righted, of a brave man s struggle from prison bars to heroic glorv, wherein the greatest film actor of the day to supreme heights of dramatic power. William Farnum is said to achieve in this picture as .error.! a portrayal as his “Jean Valjean” in “Lcs Miserables.” In the same programme is included a new rolhekmg comedy of the famous Sunshine make, which is guaranteed to tickle the susceptibilities of the great dyspeptic. There is also a Mutt and Jeff cartoon, and a good Gazette. Although the programme is a “Special” prices remain as usual Is Id and Gd, and seats may ho reserved at Webster’s without extra fee.
