BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY
At the monthly meeting of Uie Hamilton Beautifying Society there were present: Messrs W. G. Pouutncy (in the chair). R- Parr, M. A. Going, R. C. Fowler, A. IST. Wallace, and the foreman (Mr Mitchell). In regard to the extension of the Hamilton East wharf, the chairman was authorised to interview the Town Clerk regarding boundaries, etc. Messrs W. Souter ami Co. o“-'.rcd plants and palms for removal —Thanked for the offer, but the foreman reported that the palms were 100 large for removal.
The trees in Kowhai Park were reported to be suffering from want of water.—The chairman was authorised to interview the Town Clerk in reference to getting water laid on. The sub-committee recently appointed to confer with the Rowing Club recommended that Kowhai Park be closed on Regatta Day. —Agreed to. ,Thc foreman reported that necessary work had been carried out on the river path and at the lily pond, the railway station, and others of the Society’s plots. A man had been put on the work of attending to the trees in the streets. —The report was adopted.
