ACTIVITY OF BRITISH CORPS. REMARKABLE TYPES EVOLVED. IN VIEW OF WAR CONTINGENCIES. (United' Service.) Received January 12, 7.20 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 10. In view of future war contingencies, the Tank Corps is evolving remarkable types of swift, noiseless tanks. One fitted with discarded aeroplane engines has a speed of 20 miles per hour on the level and 17 cross country. It is aide to run rings round cavalry. Another type lias a 30-mife speed and a third is able to cross rivers, while a fourth combines features of tank and submarine.-. It has a speed of 20 miles on land and can then plunge into the sea- and swim' the Channel. It is- officially believed that Germany intends secretly to construct similar tanks equippedl with deadly gas projectors.
