An unknown person fired a revolver at Sir Alfred Dobbin, Sheriff, of Cork, who will be remembered for the famous light he put up against 12 Larkin Irish transportees in Dublin. Sir Allred had a very narrow escape. The bullet penetrated his clothing, and was stopped by a button. His assailant escaped.
