Tn the Randwick Plate Estland, ridden by McLachlan, raptured the spoils for Mr Lowrv in Desert field's absence. After being left at the post he narrowly beat Prince Viridis in the last stride.

Prince Royal headed them in the last furlong, and won by a short neck. Time, 1.414. The weather was dull with rain after the second race. There was a good attendance, and the going satisfactory. Sauci competed in the Welter, but was never prominent, and finished ninth.
