In the House of Commons Mr Bonar Law, replying to questions about the withdrawal of the sth Army at St. Quentin, said that there was not the slightest justification for the suggestion that this portion of the line was taken over contrary to the judgment of Sir William Robertson and Sir Douglas Haig. The arrangements were made entirely by the English and French authorities, and it was untrue that Sir Douglas Haig protested against taking over the extra line from the French.
