A COACHING DISASTER.

FOUR LIVES LOST. CAPSIZED AT A FORD. , (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This day. A terrible coaching disaster has just occurred at the Northbank ford, on the Wairau River, by which four persons have been drowned. The coach which regularly plies regularly between Blenheim and Top Valley was proceeding on the outward journey, and was crossing the Nerthbank ford when it suddenly heeled over and turned on its side in the river.

As soon as help was forthcoming it was found that the following had met their death, viz.:— Westcott, the driver of the coach. A man named Bolton. 4R Airs Bonnington. A child of Mrs Bennington's. The search for the bodies is not yet thoroughly in hand, owing to the distance at which help is available, but that of Bonnington, who is an old resident of the district, has already been recovered. The police are now proceeding to thft6cene of the disaster, with a viewto dragging for the other victims. Westcott, the unfortunate driver of the coach, was an unmarried man.
