AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING TROUBLES.
A SEAMEN'S GRIEVANCE. - SYDNEY, November 5. The Federal Arbitration Court is investigating a clause laid by the Merchant Service Guild of Australasia, seeking amelioration of existing oonditions regarding rates of pay and hours of work, which are stated lo have become intolerable. The Commonwealth steamship owners resist the claims. One point was raised, whether it was an industrial dispute within the meaning of the act now under discussion.
