A MURDEROUS ASSAULT
THREE WOMEN ATTACKED. MELBOURNE, November 5. A youug man named Johnstone has been arrested for a murderous assault on three women named Patterson, at South Melbourne. Johnstone had been keepiug company with the younger woman, and the elder remonstrated with him for insulting behaviour, whereupon he assaulted all three with a bar of iron. Mrs Patterson, who is 75 years of age, is not expected to recover.
