TARIFF RECIPROCITY.

(BY TELEGRAPH,—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Last Night. The Premier of South Australia wired asking; whether New Zealand would be represented at the meeting of Premiers, to be held at Hobart, to discuss the proposed free exchange of Australian products; also, whether New Zealand would introduce South Australian grapes into New Zealand.

Hon. R. J. Seddon replied that in view of the disturbed outlook in New South Wales and Victoria m regard to recipro city, it would be futile for' New Zealand to be represented at the meeting of Premiers, and that till the question of reciprocity is settled he does not see how the introduction of South Australian grapes into New Zealand can be considered, particularly as there would be the danger of introducing diseases of the vine, now unknown in New Zealand.
