ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

[BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT), Thames, Last Night. F. G. R. Woodward, for many years librarian at the public library, attempted suicide to-day by shooting himself. His condition is critical, and he is not expected to recover. He had been very despondent lately,, and had threatened to blow his brains out. The attempted suicide was of a most determined character. He used a 10-bore duck gun loaded with shot, the trigger being connected with his boot by a piece of red tape, An ugly wound was inflicted in his left breast, the shot passing right through his back and lodging in the opposite wall.
