It is Renor.illy understood that the Premier will undertake the control of the railways for the fivo months after their transference to the Government control, and put things in ordpr, but that it is impossible he can undertake such duty permanently in addition to his other multifarious duties, The Government and the Railway Commissioners have mutually arranged that the Engineer in Chief, Mr Napier Bell, shall inspect the rolling stock, works, bridges, and permanent way prior to their being handed over to the Government.
