Sir Saul Samuel is urging the Board of Agriculture to relax the provisions for the compulsory slaughter of cattle within ten days of arrival, and sug« gests that free entry be extended to New South, Wales cattle. The Marquis of Ripon supports the Agent-General, The Board state they wish to be satis** tied that the laws of the exporting colony afford reasonable security against the importation of disease. They also want statistical information as to the number of cattle in New South Wales affected with rinderpest, pleuropneumonia, and foot and mouth disease.
