At a meeting of the executive committee of the abovo, lield on Wednesday, a considerable amount of business in connection with the forthcoming show was transacted. Mr Butler, tho] Secret iry, reported that he had met with considerable success in his late canvass for support amongst the business people of Auckland having obtained donations of money and special prizes amounting to nearly fifty pounds and that he would have been even more successful had he been a fortnight earlier. He would then have preceded the representatives of the Auckland and Whangaiei Associations on a lik? errand in place of following them. The question of tno appointment of a President was discussed when it was unanimously resolved to ask Mr James Hume to accept the position.
