Wβ are pleased to hear that a sudden and somewhat unexpected demand has net in for Cannell'b Waipa lime. J)nrinf, the past f«w days orders have, come forward in excess of tho supply on hand. Mr Cannell is now busily engaged at the works preparing for a further output. On enquiry we find the principal orders have been received by settlers intending to use. lime as a top-dressing for their gnus land. In view of the very satisfactory report from Messrs Ambury aud Knglish, who experimented with this lime last season in this direction, we are not surprised at a demand netting in for this lime, to be applied in the same way.

We direct attention to Messrs Kemptliorne, Prosser and Co.'s new advertisement in this issue referring to their special grass manuns. It is claimed for this particular manure that it contains all tho constituents necessary for stimulating tho growth of grass crops, greatly improving both the quality and quantity of tlw crop. Now is the season for its application. Several top dressings in .small qnantites is recommended before the springs rains are over. It will renew old and worn-out pastures, and its composition has been specially directed to the encouragement of the grasses, and it will be found to largely develope th 3 growth of clovers and other broad-leaved plants.
