She was running in front of a dray driven by Mr Worden, and loaded witii firewood. Mr Worden was walking nn the offside of the dray and he could not Kee the child. The latter stooped to pull a thorn out of her foot, and while doing i» she did not notice the approach of the vehicle, the Oox nf the wheel of whioh struck her and knocked her down, inflicting a severe bruise on tier hack, ill the region of the kidneys. Had she been a little more in front of the c irt she would, doubtless, have been run over and horribly mangled. She is now recovering. No blame is attributable to anyone.
