Jackson, the well-known auctioneer, of Auckland, is not of so seri his a nature as was reported, and that he has expressed his intention of singing at the concert to bo given in tho I'ublic Hall, Cambri lee, on Friday next. The concert is one which should receive the hearty support of all classes, as it is to raise funds to purchase a piano to he used in the hall. Tiie liorough Council have, very luckily, met with a fi'st-class instrument at a reasonable price. It is now in the hall and will be used at the conceit, so the audience will have an opportunity of judging as to its merits, [n addition to the odebrated Auckland tenor (Mr Jackson), Mr Percy Dnfaur, a noted baritone of that town, will sing at the concert, also some of the best of our local ta'ent.
