Sydney, January Arrived : Last night, the Waka« tipu from New Zealand. It is announced that the Cunard steamer Parthian is under offer to the Pacific Mail Company to run between Sydney and San Francisco in conjunction with the present vessels, the Australia and Zealundia.
[Received Jan 27t\ 1 4j p.m ] Melbourne, January 27. The .steamer Afghan arrived at Hobson's Bay yesterday with 178 Chinese. Of this number 64 were detained on board by the Customs authorities for having false naturalisation papers.
