The Mayor has proclaimed a half holiday for to-morrow's cricket match, Tasmanians v. Obago. This afternoon, how- • ever, there has been an almost steady • rain, and there is very little prospect of a ' good day for the match. .- -The For bury raceceurse will be con nected with the Dunedin telephone exchange before the Cup meeting, so that messages can then be sent for the first time from the course.
