LATEST TE AROHA NEWS. [BY TELEGRAPH.-OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Pire, Tk Akoha, Monday. A fire occurred at 11 o'clock this morning, by which Leslie's furniture shop was completely destroyed. The insurance on the building and stock amounts to £150, which will about rover the loss. Had the wind been from the south instead of the northwest, Messrs Wells and Soutter's premises, which narrowly escaped, would piobably have been consumed.
Mining. On mining matters there it> nothing fre->h to repoit to-day.
Thursday's Banquet. A large number of imitations have been issued by the Battery Company for the banquet, which i.s to take place on Thursday evening.
