WONDERFUL ESCAPE

A motor-car toppled over,the moun-tain-side near Llangollen one night recently, turned six somesaults in its descent, finally landing in a field 1200 ft below 1 ,, and yet the two occupants escaped with their lives. Mr J. H.' Williams, of King's Mills Road', Wrexham," set ont from Llangollen with a lady named Miss Evans, with the idea of negotiating, the 'Horse Shoe Pass, one of the steepest and most dangerous motor propositions in Wales.

Before they had proceeded very far the lady became nervous. Arrived at a point where there is a precipice falling 400 yards and 'the road! only three yards wide, Mr Williams attempted to turn the car round.

At the critical moment the brake failed .ancfi the car rolled over the brink. *

It turned no fewer than six somersaults, and when it landed in a field one wheel 'came off.

A group of quarrymon who had witnessed the accident ran to the spot and; found Mr Williams and Miss Evans in the car unconscious. Miss Evans was suffering from internal injuries and a wonnd on tho head, while Mr Williams had a broken arm and some severe cuts. Williams soon recovered consciousness and was taken to Wrexham. He stated that he distinctly remembered the car turning four somesaults before all became blank.

Miss Evans is in hospital, and fears are entertained of her recovery. This is the third accident within a short period near the Horse Shoe Pass.
