HOSPITAL TRUST.

The monthly meeting was hold on Saturday. Present—The chairman (E. Ward, Esq), and Messrs Hopcroft, Port, Blackstock and Hare. The following donations for the month were thankfully received: — Mrs Hare, butter and periodicals; Mrs Robt. Miller, Eggs. The Surgeon-Superintendent's report was read as follows: Admissions for . the month. — males, 5 ; females, 3; total, 8, Discharges—males, 4; females, 6; total, 10 Deaths — nil. Those remaining at the end of Ihe month were—Males, 6 ; females, 2 ; total, 8. Outpatients —males, 4; females, 3 ; total, 7. The admissions this month were chiefly medical. Those discharged were cured or relieved, those remaining are progressing satisfactorily. Nothing out of the usual demands report this month. Dr McGregor, Inspector of Hospitals, wrote in reply to a communication sent, to the Colonial Secretary, stating tlmt the Government did not undertake to interpret law for local bodies, and in the matter of the Trust's dispute with the C. A. Board, he advised them to obtain a counsel's advice. The Trust were against going to law to spead ratepayers' money, and on the motion of Mr Hare, seconded by Mr Blackstock, it was decided to take no further action in the matter.

Accounts amounting to L 95 8s 8d were passed for payment. For the erection of a storeroom three tenders were received. The lowest was that of W. J. Winton, £2l, and it was decided to accept it. The Trust then adjourned.
