11.M.5. Corde'ia returned to Sydney from a cruise in Fijian waters on Monday afternoon. Capt. Grenfell reports a most deplorable accident wbiob occurred on the 27th ult. while at gunnery practice, At the seventh round a six-inch breeoh-loading Armstrong gun burst with a fearful explosion, and a scene of indescribable horror ensued, no less than two officers and three men killed and throe officers and eight men wotmded.
