WANSTEAD SCHOOL
SUCCESSFUL DANCE LIST OF FANCY DRESSES On Wednesday evening ia. very successful school dance was held in the Wanstead Hall, which had been prettily decorated. A competition was won- by Mr McKay, of Waipukurau. The children’s Monte Carlo waltz was won by Ena Stoddart and Bobbie McNutt.
The children in. fancy dress were: — Pat Taylor, Eastern Lady; Peggy Scott, Maori Maiden; Dawn Richards, Butterfly; Margaret Clark, Eastern Lady; Margaret McNutt, 80-Peep; Joan Richards, Soldier Boy; Jean Whitehead, '.Swiss Girl; Ena Stoddart, Poppy; Jean Stoddart, Sunflower; Ada Manly, Fairy; Doris Manley, Dragon-fly. Bobbie McNutt, Chinaman; Leslie Wooster, Drummer Boy; Alex Clark, Chinaman; Jack Hollick, Felix; Goodwin, McNutt, Mickey Mouse.
Among the adults in fancy costume were:—Mirs Davey, Japanese Lady;
Mrs Manly, Chinese Lady; Mrs Taylor, Night; Miss J. Mitchell, Egyptian Lady; Miss E. Ward, Fashions; Miss T. Tocker, Beach Girl; Miss M. Manly, Lily; Mr Tasman Davey and Miss Jean Parker, Back to Childhood Mr Taylor, Galloping Gertie; Mr Davy, I Ain’t Nobody’s Darling; Mr G'. Pope and R.
Cropp, Niggers. Others present were: —Mesdames E. McNutt, Clark, Scott, Stoddart, D. Stoddart, Chittenden, Glenny, McDonald, Misses Halpin, Cochrane (3), Manly (2), Harvey, Ireland, Hutchinson, Nairn and many others.
