SON’S DEATH
FATHER GETS COMPENSATION SUM OF £52 AWARDED (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Arbitration Court gave judgment for £52 compensation in the case in which John MacCallum, shipwright, Wellington, was plaintiff, and William Robert Jamieson, of Bulls, farmer, defendant. The claim was for £2OO, arising from the death of the son, John MacCallum (aged 16) from a horse falling en him and inflicting injuries Which proved fatal.
