PRODUCTION IN AUSTRALIA MINERAL OUTPUT LESS SYDNEY, Aug. 23. The Commonwealth Statistician estimates the value of the production of Australia for the year 1930-31 to amount to £3l 9,000,000 as compared with. £389,000,000 in the previous year. Except in the cases of gold and tin, the production of minerals was less in 1931 than in the previous year. The increase in the quantity of gold produced amounted to 2 8 per cent.
