COMING CHAMPION
OXLEY HIGHLY PRAISED. The Wellington lightweight boxer Jack Crowley declared after his defeat at Pahiatua at the hands of Ted Oxley by a technical knock-out in the ninth round that Oxley would be champion of the Dominion before he had finished. Crowley also expressed the opinion that in his present form Oxley would beat either Leckie or Donovan. A few seasons ago Crowley was professional instructor to the Pahiatua Boxing Club, and Oxley was his most promising pupil.
