THE WEBER FIXTURE CONCLUDING EVENTS The Weber dog trials were concluded late on Friday evening, some of the competitors in the open huntaway withdrawing, being unable to wait over until Saturday morning. The open huntaway resulted:— J. Thom’s Bruce (Hastings) 40S points 1 J. Tait’s Tip (Dannevirke) 40pts. 2 J. Donnelley’s Sandy (Hastings) 39ipts 3 R. J. McDonald’s Smoke (Dannevirke) 39 4 The local huntaway resulted:— W. Ritchie's Boss (Titree Point) 36pts 1 S. Meech’s Spy (Pongawa) 35pts. 2 G.< Herbert's Don (Pongawa) 32 3 (Handy Event) G. Herbert's Don (Pongawa) 33 1 M. Gidden's Lass (Weber) .... 2 SPECIALS. L. G. Cross, snr., £lO 10s cup for dog in each of classes 2 and 3 securing most points: J. Tait, Dannevirke) R. J. McDonald’s 10 guinea cup, for best team of three dogs, one in each class: J. Turley (Porangahau) J. McHardy’s Rose Bowl, for winner of Class I: W. Thom (Dannevirke ). W. S. Harvey’s sheild for maiden competitor securing most points in classes I and III: W. Ritchie (Titree Point), won outright. S. Meech’s cup for man scoring most points in class IHA: W. Ritchie A. McLean’s cup, for maiden man in Class I: N. Tilley (Takapau). Mrs L. G. Crosse’s junior, bracelet, for local maiden man in class lIA M. Giddens (Weber). Stables and Miller’s Cup, most points in Class I or II and 111 witn one leading dog, and two huntaways or vice versa: J. Turley (Porangahau).
