SHANGHAI, May 22.
The Japanese army transport Bombay Baru cought fire in the harbour this morning a few hours before the troops embarked on their return to Japan. The vessel carried a hundred tons of gasolene.
The fire spread rapidly, threatening the wharves and other ships, which: necessitated the cutting of the hawsers, taking the flaming Bombay Maru. through the harbour and beaching her on.ithd river where she is still burning,, .'W = ■
