INFANT KILLED
BY FALL FROM DRAY
PALMERSTON NORTH TRAGEDY
(Per Press Association) PALMERSTON N., May 22.
A distressing fatality occurred at Kauwhata on Saturday, when Bernie Robinson Bonnett, the 14-months’-old son of Mr M. R. Bennett, was accidentally killed through falling from a heavv dray.
Mr Bennett was carting soil in the vehicle and had scooped a holo in the load and placed his son securely in a corner. When he had unfastened the gate, he looked to sec if the child, was all right. He then turned his back, momentarily to lead tho horse through, and on looking round again found tho child missing from the dray, and was shocked to find it crushed under the wheel of the dray. The child had. fallen out of the vehicle and died in a few minutes.
