AUSTRALIANS’ PRACTICE NORTH AMERICAN ZONE PHILADELPHIA, May 19. Filled with deteriiiination and confidence, the Australian Davis Cup team to-day began real practice for the final round in the North Ameriican zone with the United States’ team. Under the eyes of a goodsized contingent of club members, the Australians engaged in stiff work out on the courts. The final round will be played at the Country Club at Bala. IRELAND ,v. HUNGARY LONDON, May 19. In the Davis Cup series, European zone, Rogers (Ireland) beat Gabrowicz (Hungary), 7 —5, 3—6, 6 —4, 7— 5. Won Kehrling (Hungary) beat Maguire (Ireland), 6—3, 6—2, 6—4. In The Ring STRIBBLING COMING SOUTH SYDNEY, May 20. The “Sun” states that Young Stribling has accepted a lucrative contract for flight in Australia. He will arrive in Sydney on June 23. Boy Golf Star GRADUATED FROM CADDY RANKS BRISBANE, May 20. Charles Brown, a professional, won the open golf championship of Queensland with an aggregate of 286, with T. Howard (Sydney) 2 87, J. Cohen (Queensland) 290 and H. von Nida (Queensland) 2 92. Von Nida is only a lad, just graduated from the caddy ranks.
