“Unconstitutional Action” INDUSTRIAL JUDGE RESIGNS PRIME MINISTER’S COMMENT By Telegraph —Copyright —Press Assn. SYDNEY, Last Night. Mr Justice Piddington, president of the New South Wales Industrial Commission has tendered his resignation to the Governor as a protest against “His Excellency’s unconstitutional action in dismissing the Lang Minis-
try. ’ ’ Mr Piddington’s letter points out that Mr Lang’s action was purely a question of law and tin Governor had no right to constitute himself a tribunal to deal with alleged offences against the Federal iaw.
Commenting on Mr Piddington’s resignation, the Premier, Mi’ Stevens, said: “As Mr Piddington has resigned and adopted the role of politician, I have no hesitation in saying that the whole opinion of eminent counsel is against his contention in regard to the unconstitutionality of the Governor’s action. ’’
