A FATAL ACCIDENT
ELDERLY CYCLIST KILLED
KNOCKED OVER BY TRUCK

AUCKLAND, Last Night.
Norman George Shailer, aged 50, a married man, was killed instantly this morning when he was knocked off his cycle by a motor truck belonging to a Chinese and driven by Oscar Ernest Fletcher, at the corner of Remuera Road and Dillworth Avenue. The accident occurred at about 7.30 a.m. Both Shailer’s legs were broken and he suffered other injuries. He lived at Dominion Road. DROWNING FATALITY INFANT BOY VICTIM (Per Press Association) DUNEDIN, Last Nght. The body of a boy named Bryan Robert Bamber, aged four years, the son of a railway porter, was found floating in the harbour at Port Chalmers this afternoon. The boy was seen about an hour earlier playing close to the water’s edge. It is not known how he actually came to enter the water. When the body was recovered from, the water about 150 yards from Bower Pier life had apparently been extinct for some time.
